Hello! Kia Ora!
It’s hard to believe it’s already been two months.
I write about things that happened in the past two months.
・English School
I went to English School for 4weeks. My class consists of Japanese students from 12 to 6, but I had a good time with them. Fortunately, my teacher was Maori, so I could learn Maori culture in addition to English.
I was able to experience and absorb things unique to New Zealand, such as performing the Haka during class. At the school, it was okay to drink beverages during class, eat snacks, and go to the restroom without asking. While I’m not sure if this applies to all schools, it was a great experience

・Homestay
I had wanted to do a homestay before coming to NZ, because it’s a good experience allows me to feel local people’s culture and way of life.
My Host family is pretty good! they are so kind.
I’m spending a good time with my host family and homestay mate!
Actually my plan was finished homestay with school end day, but I extend homestay term one.
Every day, I have many conversations, help with DIY ,and practice football together. I’m having very enjoyable days.

・Volunteer
I am doing volunteer of para basketball and food bank.
I have felt the power of sports because it’s easy to ovecome the language barrier. My name ”Daijiro” is easy for Japanese people to remember but it is different here. ”Daijiro” the pronounciation is difficult so I go by ”DJ”.
I have been para basketball volunteer for over a month now. Finally I have finally started to show my individuality.
At the Food bank, we sort and distribute food, toys, and other items donated by companies and individuals.
it is active every weekday with about 40 pairs come every day.
Now is a busy period because of Christmas.
From now on, I will go on trips after spending Christmas with my host family.
Currently, Japan is cold, but New Zealand is warm because of the Southern Hemisphere.
I am going to complete the ”Great Walks” on the South Island over the course of two months
